Abstract

The objective of this study is the development of Moroccan clay from the northern region by their use as raw material for the manufacture of dry flat membrane supports for microfiltration and ultrafiltration. In order to obtain a high quality support, a range of membrane supports has been manufactured by mixing the clay with an organic adjuvant (AO) at different percentages and with 3 calcinations temperatures and a particle size of less than 80 µm. The characterization of the manufactured supports was made by chemical resistance, mechanical resistance, porosity and the water permeability test.
