Abstract

Globalization-inspired significant transformation processes in Ukraine necessitate a reevaluation of educational goals, objectives, and imperatives. The training system must consider the overall context of actions and effects while preparing a competitive specialist as part of the educational process in vocational (vocational-technical) educational institutions. The goal of this article is to analyze the current state of development of vocational (vocational-technical) education in Ukraine and the network of institutions of vocational (vocational-technical) education, while also identifying issues that need to be resolved in the training of professionals and factors that affect the quality of a competitive specialist's training. A set of theoretical and empirical methodologies were used to examine the current state of preparation, and a number of issues that impede the process of assuring the quality of training of a competitive specialist were discovered. A set of questionnaires was developed to study the current state of preparation, and within the framework of a pedagogical experiment, questionnaires were administered to entrants, educators, graduates, pedagogical workers, heads of vocational (vocational-technical) education institutions in Ukraine's regions, and employers, and the questionnaire results were analyzed.
