El Mohandis, M. G. S. Abstract Mathematical solutions for the magnetohydrodynamic perturbations are given for the case of a magnetic dipole placed either parallel or perpendicular to the exciting field in an infinite fluid of finite electrical conductivity. Walen's (1944) approximation is used, and charts representing the excited field, the total field, and fluid motion are drawn.
