Abstract
AbstractA model for excited electronic states of exciton–impurity complexes in uniaxial II–VI semiconductors is extended to the case of an applied magnetic field. This allows to prove its validity for the donor–exciton complex (Do, X) in CdS by performing magneto‐optics of the excitation resonances of its I2 recombination line. The experiments confirm the interpretation in terms of transitions into p‐ and d‐like excited‐hole states of this complex given previously. g‐values and diamagnetic shifts are explicitly deduced and compared with the model predictions. Applications to respective complexes in other II–VI compounds are discussed.
