Abstract

In this work, we applied Monte Carlo simulations under the Metropolis algorithm to study the magnetic and magneto-caloric properties of the fullerene C[Formula: see text] system formed with mixed spins: 2 and 5/2. We inspected the effects of not only the crystal magnetic field but also the external magnetic field and the coupling interaction between spins. In the first part, we illustrated the ground state phase diagrams in the planes of the external magnetic field, the coupling interaction between spins and the crystal magnetic field. Also, we have established these phase diagrams for null temperature. It is found that not only the total magnetizations predict the blocking temperature value [Formula: see text], but also the magnetic susceptibilities confirm this value. The effects of varying temperature values when fixing the other physical parameters have been outlined. In particular, the studied system showed a shifting between the phases the ferromagnetic phase and the paramagnetic one, at very low temperature values.
