Abstract

The concern to ensure that all citizens have comprehensive development demands special attention from the State in making the paths viable for that ideal state to materialize. However, in recent decades, since the 1990s or so, the various threats, even more so with the COVID-19 pandemic, have revealed the deep gaps in security. Faced with this, a new approach is proposed to address security, now from human development. Therefore, the Armed Forces (FF. AA.), like all the social actors of a country, have the responsibility of guaranteeing national development, strengthening security. To achieve this, it is necessary to share a social conscience that identifies contemporary threats and emerging crises and to be able to respond adequately to them. The educational sector is the main promoter of the development of critical judgment and assertive discussion capacities, in order to achieve true awareness. Commitment that the media and social networks should assume, precisely, to promote the exchange of knowledge and spaces for debate on the common interests of the nation; as are threats to national security. The following article will analyze the aspects related to social conscience, the role of the media, threats to the integrity and security of the State, as well as the role of the Armed Forces to preserve national interests and the conquest of the objectives proposed for 2050.
