Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of the area organization of the industrial sector of the economy. The purpose of the research was to form numerical characteristics of the existing distribution of manufacturing activities in the manufacturing industry. The relevance of the topic and the results obtained is due to the high socio-economic and political significance of the industrial sector of the economy. The research was carried out using the author's algorithm, built on the use of a set of universal analytical methods. The methodological complex used includes: a method for calculating the localization coefficient, a method for measuring the level of concentration of manufacturing industries, as well as a method for assessing their regional structure. The proposed research algorithm involves the use of data generated in the system of state regional statistics. As a result of testing the algorithm, the composition of industrially oriented regions of the Russian Federation was determined, quantitative estimates of the spatial concentration of the manufacturing industries were given, and analytical interpretations were compiled. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the author's approach has shown high analytical capabilities and makes it possible to draw up a detailed characteristic of the manufacturing sector. This characteristic is important in clarifying the content of the country's spatial development strategy and its practical implementation at the level of government regional administration.
