Abstract
The article explores multiple cultural activities of Liudvikas Adomas Jucevičius (1813-1846) and their specific character. L.A.Jucevičius is considered to be an intermediary between literature written in Polish, on the one hand, and written in Lithuanian, on the other. His aim is to bring together Lithuanian and Polish speakers by trying to acquaint Polish speakers with ethnic Lithuanian culture in such fields as ethnography, mythology, folklore, and literature. A related task is to impart Polish cultural experience to Lithuanian speakers through translations into Lithuanian the poetical works of Polish authors Adam Mickiewicz, Antoni Edward Odyniec, Bogdan Zaleski, and Jozef Ignacy Krazsewski.
