Abstract

Over the past 30 years, no significant positive dynamics have been observed among the population of the member countries of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) in terms of reducing the age-standardized incidence of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases and improving the control of the main cardiovascular risk factors.
The article analyzes the factors that are potentially responsible for not reaching the target levels of blood pressure and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and provides the results of relevant studies.
