Abstract

Abstract A piezoelectric linear motor was developed using a bimorph PZT element. The piezoelectric linear motor can move forward and backward, using the resonance of only a piece of the piezoelectric element. The linear motor consists of a piezoelectric reed, two tremblers and two guide rails. The vibration of the reed and tremblers causes the linear motor to move. If the linear motor moves forward at the first vibration mode of the vibrating reed, then the linear motor will move backward at the second mode of vibration. The piezoelectric linear motor moves, using the resonance of the piezo-electric reed.
