Abstract
Rapid strides have been made in the proper utilization of ultrasound pulse-echo systems, and B-scanning is now an accepted technique in diagnostic radiology and obstetrics (Wells, 1972). These non-invasive methods are particularly successful in imaging the outlines of internal organs, tumours and cysts in cross-sectional planes, without recourse to contrast media.
