Abstract
Fatal deaths caused by the action of general elevated barometric pressure on the human body are extremely rare in forensic practice. Such cases are more typical for the body to be under water in violation of the decompression regime during underwater work, when the so-called decompression or caisson disease with a characteristic morphological picture develops. Forensic autopsy in case of suspected barotrauma is a rare phenomenon in forensic practice and has a number of features. The article provides excerpts from the expert's opinion and related documents of criminal proceedings, where these features are spelled out. In general, the overall effect of high air pressure on the human body in this case was a picture similar to the morphology of decompression (caisson) disease, except for the presence of a significant amount of air in the gastrointestinal tract.

Summary
Різко виражені, розташовані на задній та частково на бокових поверхнях тулубу, при натисканні на них пальцем о 12 год 05 хв зникають та з’являються через 4 сек. Трупні плями синьо-фіолетового кольору, розміщені на задніх поверхнях тіла, різко виражені, при натискуванні на них пальцем об 11 год 10 хв свій колір не змінюють. Під плеврою легень виявлено точкові крововиливи темно-червоного кольору. Тканина легень на розрізах червоного кольору, при натискуванні з поверхні розрізів з шумом виділяється повітря та стікає небагато кров’янисто-пінистої рідини. Містить до 300 мл напівперетравлених харчових мас сірого кольору кашкоподібної консистенції, слизова оболонка його помірно складчаста, сірого кольору. Відмічаються масивні крововиливи темно-червоного кольору в ділянці кореня брижі тонкої кишки.
