Abstract
The function of transistors in analog and digital system is very important, therefore it is necessary to give more attention to their design problem. The power amplifier is designed and tested in class A and B. This research was done to complete the existing experimental equipment by knowing the magnitude of amplification and efficiency value. The result of this research both experiments and calculations for class A amplifier show a greater amplification with increasing value of load resistance. In class A power amplifier, the highest efficiency at 10 kΩ load resistance is 2.739%. In class B power amplifiers, the efficiency value still shows a fixed value of ± 78.6%. From the efficiency value, it shows that the percentage of class B amplifier is better compared to class A amplifier. The results of the amplification and efficiency of both class A and B amplifiers that were obtained from the experimental result of design of the practice learning module showed quite accurate results. This is marked by amplification and efficiency of < 8.33 % for class A (RC coupling) and for class B, the max efficiency is 78.6 %.
