Abstract

A method for the determination of Cd and Pb in food matrices of animal and vegetable origin using GFAAS combined with a pulsed magnetic field (Zeeman effect) for correction of background absorption. The method consists of a preparative phase characterized by acid digestion in a microwave oven, followed by instrumental detection in a furnace using a L'Vov platform with a matrix modifier comprising NH4H2PO4 and Mg(NO3)2.
