Abstract
Comparison of the measurements of the main species of farming stock indicates that these animals appeared in stages. The present state of our knowledge suggests that the first to be domesticated was the goat (at the end of the 8th mill.) followed by the sheep (middle of the 7th mill.), cattle (end of the 7th mill.) and finally the pig (start of the 6th mill.). If the origins of domestication of goat and pig cannot for the moment be related to any particular culture, it is not so for the sheep and cattle, which seem to be associated with the PPNB lato sensu.
