Abstract

Parametric effects of lasing without inversion and electromagnetically induced transparency in classical systems are considered. The characteristic features of the effect of lasing without inversion in ensembles of classical electrons are analyzed using an “inversionless” cyclotron maser as an example. A theory of the effect of electromagnetically induced transparency is developed for electron cyclotron waves in a high-temperature plasma. Possible applications of these two effects in plasma physics and microwave electronics are discussed.
