Abstract

Laser surface treatment is a versatile manufacturing method that utilizes a laser beam to modify the surface of materials including steel. It offers advantages such as precise control over heat input and shorter processing times compared to other heat treatment methods. This process encompasses techniques such as laser surface heat treatment, laser surface melting, and laser surface alloying, each serving specific purposes. The aim of this process is to enhance wear and corrosion resistance, improve hardness, and fatigue strength, refine microstructure, and reduce surface roughness. It finds applications in various industries, including aerospace, nuclear, automobile, and others.
