Abstract
A laser induced voltage (LIV) effect was observed in La 1− x Ca x MnO 3 thin films deposited on tilted LaAlO 3 substrates. The dependence of the LIV signals on the irradiated laser intensity and different doping levels was measured and compared with that measured from thin films on SrTiO 3. Based on the new effect, we designed a novel room-temperature laser power meter. The optical response of this device to the pulsed and modulated continuous laser was measured from the infrared to ultraviolet band.
