Abstract
The authors report the case of a 71-year-old patient who is admitted into our hospital with acute respiratory failure, which required urgent tracheotomy. The clinical and paraclinical examinations (endoscopic examination, cervical computer-tomography, pulmonary radiography, histopathological and immunohistochemical examination) establish the diagnosis of laryngeal condroma. The therapeutic method of choice is surgery – in this case, external cricoid tumor ablation through median thyrotomy. The evolution was favorable, the patient being decannulated 30 days postoperatively.
