Abstract

During the last presidential elections, the CPNT party found a particular echo. It is quite striking, since a part of the content of its programme concerns waterfowl hunting. The geographical approach makes of the obtained votes reveals some of its workings. As the expression of a geographic practice and as the assertion of the local identity resulting from the European construction, the vote for CPNT embodies a different vote, which depends more on its location and on the neighbouring solidarity than on its own network. The vote for CPNT is derived from both archaism and a certain modernity, and thus reflects some important political, social and identity stakes in our contemporary society.
