Abstract
Prolonged labor is the one of the most common causes of maternal death that caused by inadequate uterus contraction. Inadequate uterus contraction caused by excessive labor pain. One method to reduce labor pain is Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS). This study aimed to determine the effect of TENS to active phase of first stage of labor’s duration. The design used was pre-experimental study, with one-shoot case study. With purpossive sampling, there are 16 parturient that match with inclusion criteria. All of the sample are observed with partograf. The result of One-Sample Chi-Square showed p value 0,002 <α = 0,05. So there are an effect on TENS to active phase of first stage of labor’s duration. Conclusion of this study is TENS effective to decrease the duration of active phase of first stage of labor. Keywords: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation, labor’s duration, active phase
