Abstract

The teaching of Industrial Production Management GPI, for its initials in Spanish, brings great challenges both for teachers and for the training centers where it is oriented, due to the advances in this line of knowledge, in addition to the large number of publications generated in this field . Therefore, through an innovative methodology based on bibliometric analysis and using software such as (Bibliometrix de R), VOSviewer, Sci2 and Gephi, a review of the scientific literature in this field is presented. Within the main results we found that 16,709 documents have been published in Scopus and 4,741 in WOS. So far, 2019 has been the year with the highest production on this subject. The most representative countries are the United States and Germany. The institutions with the highest number of publications are the Technical University of Aachen and the Polytechnic of Milano. The most prolific authors are Danil Zakoldaev and Igor Olegovich Zharinov with 46 publications; in Colombia the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and the Universidad de la Costa are the most representative. Four trends in scientific production in GPI were found. They are: Lean manufacturing, Industries 4.0, Digital Transformation and Sustainable Manufacturing. This research provides teachers with an overview of the past, present and future of the Industrial production management. It will allow them to improve their educational practice, in addition to making contributions to curricula, teacher training and updating laboratories where GPI related topics are taught.
