Abstract

Common opinion has it that the gothic version of the Gospels is an antiochian type text contaminated by the latin version. A thorough study of Mark' s chapter one invites to a revision of this opinion. Next to the Codex Bezae, to the ancient latin and syriac versions, from Marcion and Tatian, the gothic version appears rather as a witness of the current primitive text ill-recognised until now.
