Abstract

This paper offers a review on some Italian movies, from the postwar period to the present, in order to investigate the role of lawyers in the popular culture. The analysis highlights different types of lawyers, different ways of interpreting their role, as well as their relation with the judiciary system. The paper also shows a remarkable difference between the image of lawyering revealed by the Italian cinema and the prevalent one in US movies.
