Abstract

After reviewing the specialized literature on the implementation of decisions issued by international human rights organs and courts, as well as the degree of compliance exhibited by countries of the Inter-American Human Rights System with decisions by the latter, the article analyzes the specific situation of Chile in this domain, addressing how the various segments of the Chilean State implement decisions issued by the Inter-American Human Rights Court and Commission. For this purpose, the study introduces the concepts of incidences of commitment and incidences of resistance which, on the one hand, contribute to characterize the relationship between the various actors of the Chilean State, and on the other hand, the decisions of the Inter-American System. Finally, the article looks into the institutionalism that Chile has adopted regarding compliance with these decisions.
