Abstract

As you know, endothelial dysfunction is one of the pathogenetic causes of cardiovascular disease, but its role does not end there, because the endothelium is spread throughout the body, and therefore pathological changes can occur in other organs and systems. Among the methods of therapeutic effect in violation of the release of nitric oxide due to endothelial dysfunction, the preparations of the amino acid L-arginine, which is the natural precursor of this amino acid, is used. Among the clinical effects of L-arginine, it is possible to cite: normalization of release and increase of bioavailability of nitric oxide, prevention of blood cell adhesion, antioxidant effect, antiatherosclerotic action, and others. The use of drugs containing L-Arginine is expedient for cardiovascular diseases (coronary heart disease, arterial hypertension), menopausal syndrome in women and erectile dysfunction in men, improvement of central nervous system function, psycho-emotional stress, asthenia, etc. L-Arginine, as part of the Valargin drug, has a high safety profile, a convenient form of application and an efficiency proven by clinical studies.
