Abstract

Construction of Young Woman Marriage in Purwosono Village Community, Lumajang City. Marriage of young women is a common phenomenon in Indonesia, especially in the Horseshoe area. The purpose of this study is to look at the reasons that underlie the women in Purwosono Village still marry at a young age so that it becomes a construction in the Purwosono Village community. This research was conducted in Purwosono Village, focusing on two hamlets namely Karanganyar Hamlet and Darungan Hamlet. The informants in this study were five young women who were married until the age of 21 years. The results of this study were analyzed through the social construction theory of Peter L Berger and Thomas Luckmann through a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study, the marriage of young women under 21 years is caused by the social construction of cultural influences (Javanese-Madura), low education to religious factors. Therefore it becomes a hereditary habit. This is caused by the process of internalization, objectivation to externalization that has been embedded in individuals at a young age. Young marriages that occurred in Purwosono Village resulted in various social impacts, such as domestic violence (domestic violence) to divorce. This study concludes that there are two types of social construction, namely in women who marry at a young age and still survive (internalization-objectivation-externalization) and women who marry at a young age but get divorced (externalization-objectivation-internalization). Keywords: Young woman marriage; social construction; purwosono village
