Konsep Ta’dib Pendidikan Agama Islam Perspektif Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas

Abstract

In various definitions, education is one of the most important aspects of human life, because with education humans will be able to achieve a peaceful life with justice, meaning that humans without education will live life on earth with full of damage and injustice, not the right grip. To overcome this, whether life is related to fellow humans or relationships with God, thus education has an important role for humans to then be able to know the truth, but today education is sometimes misunderstood by many people so that sometimes education is only oriented to something material such as skills and intellectuals in various fields, thus education is only defined by the process of acquiring knowledge and abilities through transfer without having to pay attention to ethical and moral values ​​for students, this can happen because of the influence of de westernization of science based on the culture of western civilization which has eroded the main concept of the education system that puts forward the cultivation of moral values ​​for students, therefore Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas came up with a concept of Islamization of science with the concept of education, namely Ta 'dib, an education system by prioritizing the cultivation of ethical, ethical, moral, and moral values ​​for its students. This concept is the answer to return science to its true purpose.
