Abstract

· Recibido: 10 de agosto de 2023 · Arbitrado: 30 de agosto de 2023 · Aceptado: 18 de octubre de 2023 · Publicado: 1 de febrero de 2024 The objective of this research was to determine knowledge, attitudes and practices about the Human Papillomavirus and the Papanicolaou screening method, in women between 15 and 49 years old who attend the Palca Health Center, in the Department of La Paz in Bolivia. . It is a descriptive epidemiological study, with a field, cross-sectional design for the collection of qualitative and quantitative data. The main results showed that 83% of the sample does not have knowledge about HPV. 95% of women have a favorable opinion about the Pap test. However, 75% do not take the correct actions to make that diagnosis. 75% do not have knowledge about the Pap test. It is concluded that the level of knowledge about the Human Papillomavirus and the Papanicolaou test in the women in the study is low. They do not know the form of transmission, the risk of contagion, and the ways to prevent it.
