Abstract

The kinetics of structural relaxation and crystallization of amorphous Fe 80 P 13 C 7 alloy were studied by simultaneous measurement of the elongation and the electrical resistance of the alloy ribbon under 147MPa. The activation energies for structural relaxation and crystallization were estimated to be 51kJ/mol from the elongation data and 298kJ/mol from the specific resistivity data, respectively. In the structural relaxation due to preheating, the activation energies for viscous flow of the specimen preheated up to 623K and 653K were estimated to be 85kJ/mol and 123kJ/mol, respectively.
