Abstract

The kinetics of radiation-induced electrical conductivity (RIEC) of CsI crystals upon x-ray excitation is investigated as a function of the electric field strength and the temperature. It is demonstrated that the increase in electrical conductivity in a strong electric field is caused by the translation of electrons from trapping levels to the conduction band of the dielectric by a collision ionization mechanism.
