Abstract

A study was made of kinetics of hardening of ED-5 by reaction with m-phenylenediamine (PDA) under adiabatic conditions. It was shown that up to high degrees of conversion hardening of ED-5 in the presence of PDA is described by a kinetic system which considers reactions of primary and secondary amines with epoxide groups and with a complex formed by the interaction of secondary alcohols with epoxide groups. Rate constants of these reactions and the thermal effect of hardening were determined.
