Abstract
Using quantitative X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy the growth kinetics and compositional changes of Cd(S,Se) crystals in a glass matrix have been studied in relation to heat treatment temperature and time. An activation energy of 230 kJ mol-1 for diffusion during coarsening was determined, similar to that found by studying optical spectra changes associated with quantum size effects.
