KEJAHATAN DI MASA PANDEMI COVID-19 PERSPEKTIF FILSAFAT KEHENDAK ARTHUR SCHOPENHAUER (1788-1860)

Abstract

ABSTRACT
 During the Covid-19 pandemic where social distancing and isolation are known as the best solutions for suppressing Coronavirus don’t guarantee to stop crime. Street crimes, households, cyber, narcotics, corruption, and other crimes are still happening in this country. Meanwhile, the legal and criminological approaches do not discuss the ontology of crime related to the human subject. This paper examines the banality of evil from the point of view of Schopenhauer’s philosophy of Will (1788-1860). The philosophical analysis provides sharp insight into the issue of human crime. From the point of view of Schopenhauer’s philosophy, the fulfillment of human needs can trigger a person to do evil. This paper shows that: first, crime during the Covid-19 pandemic is understood as an affirmation of metaphysical Will; and second, it is understood as the absence of a moral life choice. This paper suggests restriction of the ego is an important thing to suppress human evil.

 ABSTRAK
 Di masa pandemi Covid-19 di mana jaga jarak dan isolasi menjadi solusi untuk menekan virus Corona nyatanya tidak membuat kejahatan berhenti. Kejahatan jalanan, rumah tangga, siber, narkotika, korupsi, dan kejahatan-kejahatan lain masih mewarnai kehidupan di Tanah Air. Sementara itu pendekatan hukum dan kriminologi tidak mendiskusikan ontologi kejahatan yang dihubungkan dengan subjek manusianya. Tulisan ini menelisik banalitas kejahatan dari perspektif filsafat Kehendak Schopenhauer (1788-1860). Analisis filosofis dapat memberi insight tajam atas persoalan kejahatan manusia. Dari tinjauan filsafat Schopenhauer diketahui pemenuhan kebutuhan (hidup) manusia dapat memantik individu berbuat jahat. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan: pertama, kejahatan di masa pandemi Covid-19 dipahami sebagai afirmasi Kehendak metafisis; kedua, kejahatan di masa pandemi Covid-19 tersebut dipahami sebagai absennya pilihan hidup moral. Tulisan ini menyarakan pembatasan ego menjadi faktor penting dalam menekan kejahatan manusia.
