Abstract
No assumption of costs for gender reassignment measures The Federal Social Court (BSG) has abandoned its previous case law on gender reassignment surgery for transsexualism. The diagnosis and treatment of psychological distress caused by gender incongruence is a new examination and treatment method that is subject to the prohibition with reservation of permission in § 135 SGB V. § 135 SGB V therefore also has a blocking effect for other persons until a guideline is submitted by the GBA.
