Abstract
This article examines some contributions of microblogging to Brazilian contemporary journalism. We analyzed three accounts of media outlets run by journalists on Twitter – @bandtransitosp, @revista_trip and @rodaviva –, chosen for their experimental and informative character. We examined the maintenance process of microblogs by journalistic agents, analyzing the content posted and interviewing the maintainers of the accounts. The results point to appropriations of Twitter by newsrooms beyond the mere dissemination of headilines and short coverings in real time.
