Limitations, and tactics of women members of the Soviet Women’s Committee in advocating for reproductive justice. She is co-editor of the book Feminist Samizdat: 40 Years After (Moscow: Commonplace, 2020). Aside from her academic work, Sasha is involved in feminist activism and is one of the coordinators of the Feminist Anti-War Resistance, which was founded in Russia on the day after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine
I was especially grateful that she shared her reflections on the idea and tactic of strikes in feminist movements in Russia, and as we spoke I learned that she connects the future of antiwar and feminist activism with practices of strike action
