Abstract

The crystal structures of Cs 2UO 4, Cs 4U 5O 17, Cs 2U 7O 22 and Cs 2U 15O 46 have been revealed by X-ray diffraction. The Cs 4U 5O 17 structure was studied by a single-crystal X-ray analysis; its structure consists of uranyl oxygen sheets and cesium sheets. From X-ray powder diffraction Cs 2UO 4 and Cs 2U 7O 22 were found to be isostructural with the corresponding rubidium and potassium uranates. The formula of a compound previously described as Cs 2U 16O 49 should be changed to Cs 2U 15O 46.
