Abstract

In recent decades, the friction material for brakes has seen significant advancement. The main goals of these advancements were to improve braking performance and lessen the environmental damage that toxic compounds in brake pads produced. Understanding the many different materials that must be used in the formulation of various types of brakes friction materials and their effects include crucial since the creation of brake pads is an art more than a science. The worldwide gradual phases away from asbestos on the vehicle brake frictions compounds has spurred much researches and the development towards safe and alternative. The results, many brake pads and shoes, each with a different composition and claiming to be superior to others, have emerged in the past ten years in the brake friction sector. This demonstrates form the selected brake frictions materials has more dependent on the custom and experimented trials and an error that it is on basic understanding.
