Abstract

The effect of Gd concentration on the physical properties of thin polycrystalline films of Sm1-xGdxS solid solutions obtained by explosive evaporation in vacuum of powders of the starting compounds and deposition of the latter from the gas phase on glass substrates was studied. Analysis of dependences of temperature α and baric β resistance coefficients on the Gd concentration in SmS-GdS system, as well as their ratio γ, was used as a basis to determine optimal compositions for manufacturing thin-film strain gauges and baroresistors.
