Abstract

Abstract The paper deals with aspects that influence the efficiency of electric vehicles and, respectively, their efficiency compared to hybrid or ICE vehicles. Different driving cycles are considered, especially referring to driving on the highway, or urban driving with repeated starts and stops, with average speed relatively low, and the acceleration not too high. Besides these, a comparison will be made between the situations in which the BEV has one speed or two speeds, since the weight of the vehicle is greater in the latter case. Then a hybrid and a conventional model will be tested for the same driving cycles and the same vehicle body.
