Abstract
Investigations have been carried out to determine the theta-conditions for a polyarylate based on terephthalic acid chloride and 2-phenyl-bis-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-phthalimidine. In the range of low molecular weights the θ-temperature is markedly dependent on MW. Rigidity parameters were determined under θ-conditions and it is shown that Kuhn segment calculations based on Flory's equation are reliable within the quasi-theta region.
