Abstract

The present paper aims to investigate the compaction conditions of Al SiCp B4C composites for optimum parameters. Through powder metallurgy technique Al Composites are prepared. The pressure required for compaction was optimized and pressure density relation was established. Optimum compaction pressure has been identified as 170 MPa and also compaction pressure density relationship was established based on the Heckel’s expression. Various compacting stages were identified. Optical microscopic studies reveal the proper distribution of reinforcements in metal matrix. Hardness and microstructure studies have been performed on prepared metal matrix composite
