Abstract

Objective To investigate the cognition status of the clinical value,range and reporting process of urgent value in cardiovascular ICU nurses on all levels,and explore how to improve the cognition level.Methods A survey was conducted by a self-designed questionnaire about the cognition status of the clinical value and related knowledge of urgent value in cardiovascular ICU nurses,and the results were analyzed.Results 100% nurses confirmed the importance of urgent value.52.63% nurses could master the urgent value range,including 69.7% in nurses graduated in technical secondary school,and 49.8% in nurses graduated from junior college and above,the difference was significant ( x2 =8.873,P < 0.01 ).92.1% nurses have mastered the reporting process.The mastering rate of nurses' work less than 5 years was 88.9% and 96.1 % in nurses whose work years were more than 5 years,the difference was significant ( x2 =4.007,P <0.05).Of all the urgent values,blood potassium,glucose,sodium,white blood cell count,and platelet count were the most common and the order was a litter different between the surgery and internal medicine ward,however,the content was the same.Conclusions This investigation showed insufficient knowledge of urgent value of ICU nurses,and the difference was existed in different level nurses.We should reinforce the targeted education and training,and remind the staffs in cardiovascular area that blood potassium,glucose,sodium,white blood cell count,and platelet count should be monitored closely.
