Abstract

This study aims to inventory traditional cakes in the Kerinci district, including an inventory of traditional types of cakes, an inventory of traditional cake recipes, describing the functions of traditional cakes and knowing eating from traditional cakes in the Kerinci district. This type of research is qualitative research. Techniques for retrieving Snow-Ball Sampling data by observation, interview and documentation. Analysis of data in the field in the field by means of reduction, display, conclusion and verification. The results showed that 1) Traditional types of cakes consist of two types: wet traditional cakes and dry traditional cakes 2) Inventory produces 28 traditional cake recipes in Kerinci district 3) Traditional cake recipes, namely: there are 18 types of traditional traditional pastry recipes and 10 types of traditional dry cake recipes 4) Functions of traditional cakes in the Kerinci Regency are as snacks or snacks everyday, as eating companions, as souvenirs of Kerinci district, served at traditional ceremonies and served on Lebaran day.
