Abstract

A scheme is proposed for predicting the intrinsic electromagnetic parameters of particulate inclusions which taking into account the aspect ratio, orientation, shape and the spatial distribution of inclusions. The predicted intrinsic complex dielectric constant and complex permeability of flaky carbonyl-iron particles from carbonyl-iron–paraffin composites with different volume concentrations which considering the directional distribution of flaky particles are very close to each other, and the predicted effective dielectric constant of carbonyl-iron–paraffin composite based on the numerical results agree well with the experimental data.
