Abstract

To map scientific production on the relationship between interprofessional collaboration and the safety climate of health professionals in hospital services. Web of Science, Embase and Google Scholar, with no time frame, using the acronym PCC P - Population - Health professionals; C - Concept - Interprofessional collaboration and safety climate; C - Context - Hospital service and respective search strategies. A total of 16 articles were selected that met the inclusion criteria, 15 of which were from North America and Europe. The majority used a quantitative approach, based on intervention studies with educational activities from an interprofessional perspective, and the results indicated improvements in the safety climate/culture. Some studies looked at interprofessional work from the perspective of healthcare professionals, identifying barriers and facilities for interprofessional work and its impact on patient safety. Interprofessional collaboration and the safety climate are strongly related, in a symbiosis in which both serve as a foundation for promoting safe practices, sharing ideas and clarifying roles.
