Abstract

Novel as the most voluminous and the most complex epic form presents a complex challenge for teaching interpretation. A particularity of the interpretation is emphasized in the junior grades of primary schools in order to bring the novel closer to the pupils as it should be presented as a piece of literary and artistic piece of work in a most adequate way. Interpretation should be appropriately presented and conducted so as to enable the pupils for research reading and its meaningful analysis. Syllabus tasks in the junior primary school grades proscribe reading and analysis of the novel 'White Mane' (Crin-blanc) by Rene Guillot. The paper presents stages of interpretation of the mentioned novel with expected outcomes of teaching classes intended for this novel.
