Abstract

Mr. De Young returned last September from a second round-the-world trip, including a nine-months assignment as Fulbright lecturer at the Central Institute of Education, University of Delhi, India. He has had a wide experience in the field of international relations, having served as educational administrator in India from 1920 to 1924, when he was principal of a high school, of an elementary school, and examiner in English for the University of Madras. In 1947 he was educational consultant for the Army and in 1950 for the State Department in Germany, where he was co-chairman of the International Workshop in Social Studies at the University of Heidelberg. During 1949–1950 he was coordinator of the Panels on Public Education and Teacher Education for the Commission on Occupied Countries, with offices in the NEA headquarters, Washington, D. C.
