Abstract
The paper analyzes the formation and development of education in the field of international relations in the USSR / Russia. There are three stages of training in the field of international relations in the USSR / Russia. The first stage (1917 - 1943/1944) is associated with the significant isolation of Russia in the international arena. Education in the field of international relations was of rather limited. At the second stage (1943/1944 - 1991), when the USSR becomes one of the poles in the bipolar world, education in the field of international relations is expanding. The third period of education in the field of international relations (1991 – present) is characterized by fundamental changes in politics, economics, and the social sphere, i.e. at all levels described by O. Waever. At the same time, the institutional level has had the greatest impact on the transformation of education in the field of international relations in Russia. As a result of changes in the field of education, all five of the above limitations have been overcome.
